Housing structures on the Pine Ridge Reservation are mostly trailer homes built in the 1960s that are in desperate need of repair. Many homes are without siding, have broken and missing windows, and faulty generators that become fire hazards. Winters are harsh on the Plains with bitter cold temperatures and high winds. Helping to restore these homes is imperative for the health and well-being of families in this community.
